I am at Kota Bharu, Kelantan already..
My home sweet home..
Alhamdulillah..
done with final report..
everything had been email to Azaki..
so that he can check it and submit to Prof Jamal..
even this is a school holiday..
i still can do some survey to evaluate our courseware..
i have let my little cousins which are a form 1, form 2 and form 3 students to try our couseware..
they look so excited to play with the courseware..
after using the courseware, i asked them to fill in the evaluation form to be attached into our final report..
now..lets focus on EXAM!

WEEK 14 : Final Presentation
Finally..
We have done with our presentation..
But there are some technical error happen..
Maybe there are some redundant button that we did not realize..
Will do some improvement before submit to Prof Jamal..
By the way, Ismanor Fahmi and me were given the task to do the final report.
Thanks god next week is a school holiday..
got some time to settle down everything..

WEEK 13 : Final Touch Up for Courseware
This week there is no lecture..
But somehow our group decided to meet up at class to settle down everything..
We help each other to solve some of the technical problems occur in our courseware..
Besides, everyone were asked to give 4 questions from their part..
The questions will be combined and put into "Are You Sure" part..
I had been asked to create a standard button and a standard layout for our group multiple choice questions using Adobe Photoshop.

WEEK 12 : Testing Category
Dr Jamal revise what had we discussed in group last week..
There are 3 type of testing which are :
1. Content testing
2. Functional testing
There are 3 type of testing which are :
1. Content testing
- A misspelled word
- Wrong picture
- Poorly written paragraph
2. Functional testing
- A link does not work
- The site only work with windows 7
- A cool "mouse over" does not work
- Hard to get to page 3
- A picture has too high of resolution
- User can't tell which thing they can click on

WEEK 11 : Testing of Multimedia Project
Pssttt..Azaki wasn't in a good
mood today..be careful..hehe!
The lesson today is about Testing
of Multimedia Project
We are divided into 3 groups based
on 3 types of articles which are:
- Type of Courseware Testing
- Courseware Testing Approach
- Courseware Testing Stages
Let’s go through each article:
ARTICLE 1
: Type of Courseware Testing
2 type of courseware testing:
1. Functionality Testing
Meaning -
focus on development function especially in programming part.
- Unit Testing -testing of the own code module by module. Each programmer tests their own modules thoroughly and does not start a new module before testing and fixing the previous one.
- Integration Testing - testing of the full program after the modules are combined
- Compatibility Testing - testing the courseware on the various kinds of user hardware and software configuration.
2. Usability Testing
Meaning - a quality attribute that assesses how easy user interfaces are to
use.
- Learnability: How easy is it for users to accomplish basic tasks the first time they encounter the design?
- Efficiency: Once users have learned the design, how quickly can they perform tasks?
- Memorability: When users return to the design after a period of not using it, how easily can they reestablish proficiency?
- Errors: How many errors do users make, how severe are these errors, and how easily can they recover from the errors?
- Satisfaction: How pleasant is it to use the design?
ARTICLE 2
: Courseware Testing Approach
1. Self Testing
- everyone in the team monitor each other's performance to spot the
weaknesses of each part and correct it together.
2. Peer Review - ask
people that have more experiences to test the courseware for improvement.
3. Concept Testing (Focus
Groups) - trying out the main project ideas on selected groups of people
representative of the intended user group
4. Field Trial - test
the courseware in situ with the users.
ARTICLE 3
: Courseware Testing Stages
1. Alpha Testing (Stage -
Developmental Testing)
- is conducted when the prototype of the multimedia courseware is ready and the courseware can take inputs and generate outputs.
- tested inside the organization, in our context and on the peer group.
- run on a different machine in organization (to detect and eliminated bug)
- test the tools that worked and didn't work
2. Beta Testing (Stage -
Acceptance Testing)
- comes after alpha testing ( considered a form of external user acceptance testing)
- release to a limited audience outside of the programming team
- release to groups of people so that further testing can ensure the product has few faults or bugs.

WEEK 10 : Presentation of The Prototype
I'm a bit late today..
I need to handle the science and math explorace (which is the annual big activitie for science and math month) at school..
I was thinking to escape my duty n just run to lecture for the presentation..
but somehow i am the leader of this program..
and i am the one that incharge the flow of this explorace..
what to do..its a MUST! My Ketua Bidang also ask me to finish the explorace first before go to class..
We planned to end the game around 3.45pm..
But dealing with the kids, everything finished around 4.30pm..hurmm..
anyway, when i arrived at the computer lab..
almost all group done with the presentation..
so, the next group is us..
alhamdulillah..
everything goes well..
except for ismanor fahmi part that cannot be previewed using flash..
he just present his power point..
comment from Prof Jamal..
-attractive colour..(as long as user can see the text clearly, then its ok)
-need to cut the subtopic number which is 5.1, 5.2, 5.3..
other group wasn't bad too..
somehow i think, developing language courseware can give us more chance to be creative compare to mathematics courseware which is too static and straight..but its okay..lets try out best!
Prof Jamal ask us to complete the prototype and documentation n send it to him by next week .

WEEK 7 : WEEK 8 : WEEK 9
class cancel : middle semester break : class cancel
even the class canceled, but non of us can just seat and hooreyyy hooreyyyy...
so much works to do yet so little time with so many commitment..
yeahh..admit it as this is the begining of the year & the first semester of school days..
lots of works at school..curriculum..co-curriculum.. OMG!
somehow..
to settle down the 40% of the prototype..
we decided to meet up at Jusco Taman Universiti..
discuss the content of our course-ware..
and divide the task for each members..
apart from that, we are discussing and designing the layout for the template..
at first we are planning to use blue and white as the main colour of the background..
then we think red and white are more attractive..just like an Air Asia! hehe!
After done with the background and template..
Azaki volunteer to give final touch up for it before pass the template to everyone by email..
List of task for everyone :
1. Fatimeh Moradi - Introduction + Conclusion
2. Azaki Kadis - 5.1 The Concept of Ratios : 2 Quantities
3. Ismanor Fahmi Ismail - 5.2 The Concept of Proportions to solve problems
4. Nurul Farhana Junus - 5.3 The Concept of Ratios : 3 Quantities
The story board will be send in 2 weeks time to Azaki and he will compile it.
After the discussion, we went to Tutti Fruitti..10% discount for UTM student..hehe! Thanks Azaki for treating me tutti frutti! yumsss!

WEEK 6: Courseware Design Fundamentals : Interaction Design
The discussion for today is "Courseware Navigation"..
Based on my reading, i found this interesting tips which are :-
Based on my reading, i found this interesting tips which are :-
- Don't make your user guess - Make careful decisions as to where your navigation is placed, and make it stand out. Then your users won’t sit there aimlessly clicking the mouse as they search in vain for some kind of direction.
- Keep it high - keep the significant information, including the navigation, as high up as possible
- Below the banners - don’t place any navigation elements above your banner ads because users naturally ignore content placed above any banner ads on your site (consider this space for further advertisement)
- Consistency is key - locate your navigation in the same place, with the same styles, and don’t change anything. This way, your users know exactly where to look for it.
- Dont be Advanturous - when it comes to navigation, try and blend in with the rest of the flock.
- Add a 'Home' Button - put the home button on each page to make sure users always know how to get back to the main page.
- Quality not Quantity - use subsections and subcategories with appropriate navigation to enable users to quickly locate the specific content they want
- Leave Out the Unimportant Stuff - Links such as ‘Contact Us’ and ‘Privacy Policy’ are best left out of your Website’s main navigation. The most common place for these to go is at the bottom of the page.

WEEK 5: Courseware Design Fundamentals: Interaction Design
The Incredible..
Because of the name..
We become the first group to present the implementation table..
And 2 of my group mates were absent today (Azaki - went for a conference & Ismanor Fahmi - got prob with car)..
What to do..
It's a MUST for me to present our group Implementation Table..
It wasn't a big problem for me to be in front of others and present our ideas..
BUT..
the main issue is when i need to speak up in English..*sigh*
after all, i hope the lecturer and friends are able to understand what had been presented by me..
Dr J's comment (regarding our Implementation Table)
- Various activities was planned which is good
- He hopes that all the plan can be transferred into course ware
- He asks us to upload the implementation table into e-learning.
After a hard work for the whole week..
I would say that this phase was really difficult..
I know my weakness which is i am still confuse with learning theories and learning strategies..
Because of this weakness, it is hard for me to decide the learning theories and strategies to be used.
Let see what is actually
a) Learning Theories
b) Teaching and Learning Strategies
LEARNING THEORIES
1. Behaviorism - Based on observable changes in behavior. Behaviorism focuses on a new behavioral pattern being repeated until it becomes automatic.
2. Cognitivism - Based on the thought process behind the behavior. Changes in behavior are observed, and used as indicators as to what is happening inside the learner's mind.
3. Constrructivism - Based on the premise that we all construct our own perspective of the world, through individual experiences and schema. Constructivism focuses on preparing the learner to problem solve in ambiguous situations.
TEACHING AND LEARNING STRATEGIES
1. Active Learning - Active learning is a process whereby students engage in activities, such as reading, writing, discussion, or problem solving that promote analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of class content. Cooperative learning, problem-based learning, and the use of case methods and simulations are some approaches that promote active learning.
A listing of Instructional Strategies and Methods
1. Direct Instruction
- Possibilities include
- Structured Overview
- Lecture
- Explicit Teaching
- Drill & Practice
- Compare & Contrast
- Didactic Questions
- Demonstrations
- Guided & Shared - reading, listening, viewing, thinking
2. Interactive Instruction
- Possibilities include
- Role Playing
- Brainstorming
- Peer Partner Learning

4. Independent Study
- Possibilities include
- Essays
- Computer Assisted Instruction
- Journals
- Learning Logs
- Reports

WEEK 4: Courseware Design Fundamentals : Information Design
For today's task..
We were asked to be in group and discuss about the effective learning approach and strategy to enhance students' comprehension in our course-ware. Dr J gave us a copy of implementation table which is i-have-no-idea to fill in each column in each table. After a discussion with Azaki and Ismanor Fahmi, i finally got some idea to do it.
We have decided to choose the topic of Mathematics Form 2 - Chapter 5 : Ratios, Rates and Proportion. For the god sake, I am really weak when it comes to learning theory, learning strategies and all type of learning. So, in the whole discussion, i keep giving idea the activities that we are planning to do in the courseware, while Azaki and Ismanor Fahmi help me to decide the learning strategies and theories. Thanks god i have groupmates.
We end up the class without finished the task. So, tonight the discussion with goupmates will be on Skype.

The reminder from Dr J :
Besides that Dr J also show a few type of Instructional Software which is look-interesting-but-not-easy-to-do. I'm so excited for the next class.
- Update blog address
- Register group members
- Select the topic for project
- Courseware definition and planning (Analysis)
- Information architecture (Analysis)
- Courseware design (Design)
- Courseware construction (Development)
- Courseware marketing/implementation (Implementation)
- Tracking, evaluation, and maintenance (Evaluation)
